Corrections

The Detention/Corrections division of the Department is responsible for the operation of the City Jail. The division consists of a Jail Commander, appointed by the Chief of Police, and five Detention/Corrections Officers. The Detention/Corrections Officers primary duties are the security of the facility and the care and supervision of the inmates. Detention/Corrections Officers are also responsible for the enforcement of Animal Control ordinances within the city when jail duties allow.

The jail has contractual agreements with numerous agencies and averages a daily population of 20 inmates. Non-violent work release inmates are also accepted from Municipal and Superior Courts throughout the state.

We also offer Video Arraignment to various municipal courts.
